Longest red carpet in Emmy history
This years 68th Emmy Awards ceremony took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel (pictured above). The Emmys was produced by Don Mischer and television academy chairman/CEO Bruce Rosenblum to recognise excellence in primetime programming and individual achievement for the 2015-2016 television season.
It is the longest red carpet rollout and show in Emmy history at 1325 feet which symbolically represents the “rapidly expanding television landscape and the talented storytellers and creators of the world’s most vibrant medium.” The night featured awards in 27 categories presented by top talents such as Tom Hiddleston, Henry Winkler and Tori Kelly; whom performed during the In Memorian segment of the night. These honors are in addition to the Emmys already awarded at the Creative Arts awards ceremony night in 85 other categories; with award winners Hank Azaria, Margo Martindale, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Peter Scolari also joining the list of presenters on the night.
