Raising Capital for a Sparkling Idea
SOFI Spritz is Australia’s Aperitivo, inspired by classic Italian cocktails but with a modern Australian twist. In 2019, SOFI decided to once again turn to crowdfunding to raise capital. They challenged us to amplify brand awareness while motivating consumers to invest in SOFI’s latest crowdfunding opportunity through equity-investing platform Equitise.
To achieve cut-through we developed an innovative media activation series to connect with consumers across several touch points. It was important to create a brand narrative that had the scope to live far beyond the crowdfunding campaign. In order to do so, we brought the SOFI Spritz ethos to life (literally).
We crafted a SOFI care package which was personally delivered to media and influencers by none other than an Aussie-Italian model, who greeted recipients in Italian, wearing a singlet with the tagline, ‘when Australian wine takes an Italian lover’.
We further amplified awareness at a national level, by establishing Shark Tank judges Steve Baxter and Glen Richards as campaign spokespeople. As a result, we reached over 47,213,746 people, achieving over 50 pieces of targeted media coverage. With our help, SOFI Spritz raised over $650,000 in equity from loyal fans, over funded by their goal by 162%.
