ALL Accor+ Explorer Serves up ‘Money-Can’t-Buy’ Experience with Alex De Minaur
Accor Plus served up an enviable tennis exclusive yesterday for ALL Accor+ Explorer members in Melbourne. Proving that not all the action was courtside, the premium travel loyalty subscription invited select members to spend time up close with Alex de Minaur. It was a rare opportunity to hear from Alex, currently ranked 6th in the world, at the beginning of his campaign at the Australian Open.
More than 60 members and guests attended the intimate gathering at The Como Melbourne, where they were joined by Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Accor in the Pacific region. Guests were treated to premium drinks and canapés before joining a hosted Q&A and private meet-and-greet with the tennis star.
“It was a pleasure to speak with Adrian at the Accor member event this week. I am looking forward to staying with Accor over my 2026 Australian Open campaign,” said Alex de Minaur.
The event was a shining example of a more personalised approach to hospitality that Accor Plus is building among its members. ALL Accor+ Explorer not only gives members access to elevated benefits, recognition and unique experiences across Accor’s world-leading hotels, restaurants and bars. They also join a community of savvy, like-minded travellers where loyalty is recognised and rewarded with exclusive experiences that go beyond.
“To connect with Alex at the outset of such a major sporting moment was an unforgettable way for our members to truly kick off the new year,” said Emilie Couton, CEO of Accor Plus. “This experience perfectly embodies our philosophy: We believe loyalty should feel personal and deliver genuine, unparalleled value. We are committed to curating our members’ exclusive insider access and money-can’t-buy experiences that simply cannot be found anywhere else.”
During a Q&A session hosted by Adrian Williams, Alex de Minaur discussed the vital role hospitality plays in his tournament preparation. Since he spends most of the year staying in hotels, Alex makes a point of fully unpacking to avoid the feeling of “living out of a suitcase.” He also locks down his daily ritual after a win, sticking to the exact same breakfast for the duration of the tournament. Alex also shared his personal connection with The Como Melbourne, where he met his perfect match and now-fiancée, British tennis star Katie Boulter, during a previous stay.
“In January, all eyes are focused on Melbourne, and it’s an important moment for hotels and the tourism industry right around Victoria,” said Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Accor in the Pacific region. “We’re absolutely delighted to be hosting Alex de Minaur during his tournament run, and are proud to serve him with the very best hospitality.”
At the conclusion of the event, guests had an opportunity to take photos with Alex de Minaur and keep a lasting memento of their day.
The member momentum continues on 5 February 2026, when ALL Accor+ Explorer will host a member-only event in Melbourne for the hit Broadway musical ANASTASIA. This exclusive curated package features two premium tickets and a private Q&A session with members of the cast. Guests will also enjoy a pre-show function with drinks and canapés, followed by a luxury overnight stay and buffet breakfast at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
